Georgie Newson-Errey
Georgie Newson-Errey is the 2017 winner of the Dan Hemingway Creativity Prize, awarded for her creative potential in writing.

Balloons is a play about a teenage boy becoming obsessed with transhumanism and how technology could thwart death. Written by 18-year-old Georgie Newson-Errey, Balloons is the winning entry for the 2017 Creativity prize awarded each year at the Cherwell School in Oxford. Standing out in the strong field of 23 entries, the judges Miles Waters, Will Wiles and Sue Hemingway were unanimous in selecting Georgie's play.

Later this year Georgie will be taking A Levels in English, Maths and Philosophy, and aims to continue her studies at university. Her ambition now is to stage the play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
