EMMA SECKEL IS THE 2016 SHORT STORY WINNER

We're delighted to announce that Emma Seckel is the 2016 winner of the Dan Hemingway Short Story Prize at the University of St Andrews, for her short story 'The Wild Hunt'. Many congratulations to Emma, who's currently celebrating Christmas with her family in Vancouver, Canada.

Her winning story from a strong field of 46 entries draws on the Celtic legend of the sluagh. Emma primarily writes speculative fiction, attempting to paint a realistic portrait of the world, but with a twist towards the uncanny or the supernatural.

The 2016 judges were Oli Hazzard, Emma Jones and Sue Hemingway.
